  MTV Networks Latin America Internship Opportunities (South Beach)
  MTV Networks Latin America is currently accepting student internship applications for the winter semester (Jan 2010 – May 2010).
  In order to apply, interested students must provide us with the following:
  1. Resume
  2. 2 letters of recommendation from a past employer, professor, etc.
  3. A letter from their university stating they are eligible to enroll in an internship class and will receive credit or a letter stating that they will receive a transcript notation at the end of the internship (most important document required and interviews will be set up only after this document has been submitted).
  4. College transcript (can be unofficial).
  PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
  1. These internships are NOT paid. They are for University Credit only and a student MUST be enrolled in a for credit internship course and MUST provide proof of such (# 3 above). If you are not enrolled in an internship course you CAN NOT work for free.
  2. You MUST be able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week.
  3. Please keep in mind that since this is the Latin American division of MTV Networks, most internships require that you speak Spanish.
  4. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE STUDENT TO ARRANGE FOR APPROVAL FOR ACADEMIC CREDIT FROM THE APPROPRIATE ACADEMIC DEPARTMENT PRIOR TO ACCEPTING THE INTERNSHIP FOR CREDIT.

• Marketing Intern Position
  Experience: Entry level
  Education: Some College preferred
  Position: Unpaid
  Marketing interns will be actively enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, a university marketing, social media, advertising, or other related program. Current students will preferably have at least sophomore standing. The individual must demonstrate the ability to undertake basic writing assignments, and posses an understanding of basic social media skills, an ability to interact professionally with co-workers. A working knowledge of computers, as well as word processing and database management software is necessary. Ideal candidate would be somewhat familiar with social media sites including Facebook, MySpace, Twitter. Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop/InDesign/Illustrator a plus. Interns work schedule will be flexible based on time requirements, but no less than 15 hours a week.
  Responsibilities: We are looking for a non paid intern to work with us on a wide variety of marketing projects and to communicate company objectives on social media platforms.
  • Draft media materials including press releases, social media alerts, news letters or blogs, status reports and other materials as directed.
  •  Delivers special media announcement messages via social media tools outlined by the marketing manager.
  • Attends and participates in marketing meetings, media training sessions presentations, and brainstorming sessions as directed.
  • Assists with the development and updating of media lists and other databases, including client, marketing, prospect and administrative databases. Other tasks include database creation, data entry and update additions and corrections. The intern will provide data output in the form of letters, e-mail lists, data lists and other reports as requested.
  • Assists with the distribution of information/materials or the company’s marketing materials. Also ensures completeness and accuracy of information and assists with the management of destination lists, and coordination of e-mail , mailing or broadcast activities. In addition, conducts appropriate follow up when necessary.
  • Assists with the management of media/newspaper/online inventories for easy access.
  • Supports the company’s efforts by drafting film releases and performing research activities online.
  • Assists marketing staff with business development and management projects as needed. Is creative, thinks “out of the box” and has fun!
