FilMiami Attends Producer's Guild Conference

The Producers Guild of America (PGA) presented the “Produced By” conference June 4-6 at the 20th Century Fox Studios in Los Angeles. The 2nd annual event featured seminars on incentives, independent film finance, trans-media production strategies and a host of other topics relevant to the production community. Members of Film Florida attended the conference to promote Florida’s new $242 million incentive package to LA based producers, and were enthusiastically received. The first event of the three-day conference was a “Meet the Film Commissioners” breakfast, where the Florida contingent was introduced to dozens of producers and executives in attendance. And throughout the rest of the weekend there were many opportunities to meet with producers and discuss the new incentives in Florida, which proved to be a very popular topic during the course of the event. Miami-Dade’s Jeff Peel was joined by Graham Winick of Miami Beach, and Susan Simms from the Florida Governor’s Office at the “Produced By” Conference to help spread the word about Florida’s new production incentives and bring more Los Angeles based film and television production to South Florida.
